Hope for Heroes in the Shadows is the theme of the 2017 San Juan County Homeless Stand Down event, which will be held Friday, October 13, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at San Juan College’s Health and Human Performance Center. Donations and support are being requested to help bring those who sacrificed for our freedoms back into the main stream of society. The purpose of the event is to serve homeless veterans with a wide range of support services that will provide basic needs such as personal hygiene, warm meals, and basic medical attention. All monetary donations as well as personal items are appreciated.
The 2017 team of sponsors include the San Juan College Foundation; NM Department of Veterans Service; NM Workforce Connection; Veterans Administration; PMS Veteran and Family Support Services; area veteran organizations; San Juan County, the cities of Aztec, Bloomfield and Shiprock; the City of Farmington Community Relations Committee; The Navajo Nation; and several faith based organizations.
