This is a two year program leading to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and is offered in the traditional semester format over the course of 5 semesters. Class and clinical sessions meet mainly during daytime hours.
San Juan College Department of Nursing began admitting students into the statewide common curriculum through participation in the New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) in fall of 2014. With the currriculum redesign, the prerequisites and general education courses for application, selection and admisson to the associate degree nursing program have changed.
Applications to the program may be submitted during either the fall or spring application period. Application packets are available during open application periods.
Students who graduate from the Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN) program will be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), and may continue on to enroll in a bacculaureate degree in a nursing (BSN) program offered at select four-year institutions.
