Meet the Staff
Christy Ferrato, BFA, MS, MFA, Director of Advising Counseling & Disability Services
Christy has worked at San Juan College for 6 years, where she served as the EDGE Director, before coming to the ACC in August, 2013. Christy holds Bachelor degrees in Art and Art Education, and Masters degrees in Special Education and Creative Writing. She is committed to doing whatever is needed to support student success, and especially loves being of service to students. Her heroes are the Dalai Lama and Sponge Bob.
Coordinator of Disability Services
Laura Pate, B.A. Coordinator of Disability Services
Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts In Human Services from Western Washington University. She has worked with people who have Severely Disabling Mental Illness, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities, and individuals with adult onset of disabilities. She has worked with people with disabilities in the institutional and community settings for over 26 years. She believes that individual, person centered support is crucial. Laura advocates for Academic Accommodations with Accountability.
Taylor Haskell, M.A., L.P.C.C. #0095111, Counselor/Academic Advisor
Taylor is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle. As a Mental Health Counselor, his focus is on helping students work through the multitude of life issues they face as they go through their college careers. Relationships, family concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress are some of the issues with which he is experienced. He is a Level II EMDR therapist and an EFT practitioner.
Sherrie Benally, M.S.W., Counselor/Academic Advisor
Sherrie has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver. She is a licensed LMSW in New Mexico. She has experience working with individuals who are homeless and have substance abuse or mental health challenges.
Stacey Bradley, B.A., Academic Advisor
Assiniboine (Ft. Belknap)
Stacey has a B.A. degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Family Relations and Early Childhood Education, from the University of Montana. She also holds a Family Development Specialist Certificate from the University of Iowa School of Social Work and the National Resource Center on Family Based Services. Stacey particularly enjoys working with first-generation college students.
Susan Grimes, B.A., Academic Advisor
Susan is a graduate of San Juan College and holds a B.A. degree in Humanities with a minor in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College. She has worked at San Juan College over the past 16 years in adult literacy, tutoring, and now academic advising. She enjoys working with all San Juan College students on their journey through higher education.
Amanda Robles, B.A. Online Academic Advisor
Amanda holds a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Accounting from Fort Lewis College. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Liberal Arts in Social Sciences from Baker University as an Online Student. Amanda is following her passion for working with Adult Learners in post secondary education. She enjoys inspiring and advising all San Juan College students to reach their full potential, and especially enjoys connecting with distance students through online advising using current technology.
Stacie Chambers, Advisor, B.A.
I am originally from Glendale, AZ. I moved to Farmington in 2011 after graduating in from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology. I was also a student-athlete for the University of Arizona from 2007-2011 as a member of the softball team. I attended SJC from 2012 to 2013 completing the Alternative Licensure Program for Secondary and Special Education. I was a Gifted Education/Psychology Teacher at Farmington High School from 2011-2014. During that time, I was also a high school softball coach at Farmington High (2011-2012) and then Navajo Prep (2014). Currently, I am working on a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling through New Mexico Highlands University. I enjoy working with students and helping them get to the next level with their academics and in some cases to pursue athletics.

Lilly Douglass, Administrative Assistant, A.A.
Lilly is a graduate of Farmington High School and San Juan College. In 2005, she earned an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in English. Lilly has ten years of office work experience. Lilly enjoys working with students and staff at San Juan College. Lilly is the friendly face greeting visitors at the front desk.
