Henderson Fine Art Gallery
January 9, 2009 - February 6, 2009
Reception: January 9 – 6 to 8 p.m.
From the beauty of various sculptures and assemblages to paintings of people and landscapes, the works of artists Susie Neely and Susan Reed will be featured in the exhibit titled "From the Plain-Two Artists Collide." The San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center Gallery will feature the exhibit, January 9 – February 6, with an opening reception on Friday, January 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Art with humor is Susie Neely's favorite theme. Her collage of talent includes assemblage and bronze sculpture, pen and ink, colored pencil and acrylic.
Susan Reed paints with a combination of pencil, oil pastel, acrylic and oil on canvas and paper. Her work provides an eye view into the agricultural and archeologically rich environment in which she resides. It is a commentary on the interrelatedness of this environment with the outside world, the history of the area and its native inhabitants, and the sociological implications of a rural lifestyle.
The Art Gallery is open
Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
