Technology Leadership Conference - April 28 2009
Top local and national industry professionals will provide an updated look at technology at the 2009 Technology Leadership Conference, hosted by San Juan College Office of Technology Services, on Tuesday, April 28, from 8 to 5 p.m., in the San Juan College Little Theatre.
Adhering to the theme, “Technology Innovation and Community Collaboration,” the conference will feature top industry professionals who will provide an array of informative talks. Those attending will gain a perspective of the current and future technology issues facing education, business, government and the community at large.
“The conference topics are designed to appeal to a wide audience,” explains Tim Warren, San Juan College vice president for Technology Services. “These include everything from learning about developments in wireless technology and its effect on gas and oil, to the economic stimulus funding for broadband, to going green and the initiatives that are making a difference, to technology trends in education and government.”
A variety of door prizes will be awarded, including a laptop and portable printer.
On Wednesday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lynn Lane, San Juan College technical trainer, also will provide participants with three 90-minute training sessions including: Report Writing in Microsoft Word, How to Create Audio Files, and Creating Fill-able Forms using Adobe Pro 9. Space is limited for the free trainings, so those interested should register early by calling Gaylyn Harris at 566-4321, or via e-mail at TLC@sanjuancollege.edu.
Featured speakers will include Bill Graves, senior vice president for academic strategy, SunGard Higher Education; Russ Elliott, president, Brainstorm Internet; Phil Bryson, chairman, Brainstorm Internet; Steve Kiely, chairman of the board, Cray, Inc.; Robert L. Wheeler, senior consultant, SunGard Higher Education; Phil Calzadilla, regional manager, Cisco.
A reception will be held for conference participants on Monday, April 27, at 7 p.m., at the Courtyard Marriott in Farmington.

The best parking for access to the Little Theatre is available in the paved lot in front of the clock tower building, which is located on the west side of campus.
