Humanities Art Balcony
A Vanishing Colorful Culture
Feb. 13 - March 7, 2014
Reception: Feb. 13 – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Humanities Balcony.
May Howard will display a collection of oil paintings focusing on Southwest and Native American themes in her exhibit A Vanishing Colorful Culture in the Humanities Balcony Art Gallery at San Juan College beginning February 13 until March 7.
Howard enjoys “painting the beauty and strength of native people, the horses and the colorful landscapes.” She hopes to share with her viewers, a vision of a time’s nostalgic and wistful heritage that is being forgotten. Howard’s paintings are vividly life-like and her still life pieces often feature detailed Native American pottery, patterns and artifacts.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 3-5 p.m. For more information, call Cindy McNealy, 505-566-3464
