The Occupational Safety Associate of Applied Science Degree Program (Online) is designed to provide students with a thorough education in the growing field of environmental, health and occupational safety and prepares them for entry-level safety positions in a variety of industries, while providing seasoned professionals the opportunity to gain academic credentials to help advance their career.
Additionally, our AAS program meets the current education requirements for the industry recognized Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) professional certifications. The program curriculum includes:
- Hazard assessment in the workplace
- Applying regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Safety training
- Cost analysis and budgeting
- General safety management
Students may earn their AAS or a Certificate in Occupational Safety online. Students seeking an AAS in Occupational Safety can receive 18 credit hours for a completed TEEX-Certified Safety Health Official ™ (CSHO) certificate. The environmental, health and occupational safety career field is expected to increase with the technological advances in safety equipment, changing regulations and increased public awareness.
Funding is available for those looking to re-career, in addition to a variety of financial aid and scholarships.
