The Occupational Safety Associate of Applied Science Degree Program (Online) is designed to provide students with a thorough education in the growing field of safety and prepares them for entry level safety positions in a variety of industries, while providing seasoned professionals the opportunity to hone their knowledge and skills. The program curriculum includes; hazard assessment in the workplace, applying regulatory requirements and industry best practices; safety training; cost analysis and budgeting; and general safety management. Students may earn their AAS or a Certificate in Occupational Safety online. Students seeking an AAS in Occupational Safety can receive 18 credit hours for a completed TEEX-Certified Safety Health Official ™ (CSHO) certificate. The occupational health, safety and environmental career field is expected to increase with the technological advances in safety equipment, changing regulations and increased public awareness.
