Completion, Supervisor Level Training. The course emphasizes communication and a core curriculum determined by IADC to assist the employee on the rig and the engineer in the office to communicate on the same level. The following is a list of courses offered by San Juan College for the IADC Well Cap and For the Well Sharp programs. It is very important that you enter the right course for your level.

Well Cap Workover/Completion

  • Workover/Completion Supervisory
  • Also you can add to WOC the supplemental Coiled tubing, Wireline, and Snubbing.

The Workover classes are to allow personnel the knowledge of well control on the Workover and Completion operation. The course utilizes concepts of math and situational scenarios through hands on simulations.

Well Sharp Drilling/supervisory

  • Driller: Addresses practical well control skills, with a focus on detecting a kick and shutting in the well, for assistant drillers and drillers.
  • Supervisor: Designed for tool pushers, superintendents, drilling foremen, and company men and focused on well kill procedures.

The Well Sharp accreditation currently applies to the Drilling Operations track of training only. The Well Servicing and Underbalanced Operations tracks will continue to fall under the Well CAP Program’s curricula and accreditation criteria until IADC’s committees and work groups have completed their revision of these tracks. Conversion of these tracks from Well CAP to Well Sharp will be accomplished in phases.
