The physical education degree program covers all aspects of human health and fitness.  Students learn how the human body works in order to gain an in-depth understanding of personal health, levels of wellness, and understanding the true scope of fitness and its effects on the human body and mind.  Students also learn about various concepts of health, wellness, and fitness and how to apply them for the maintenance and improvement of human motion.  They get an understanding of proper form and safety of human performance, and how to design an individual exercise/lifestyle program.

The AA in physical education is transferable to a four-year college or university.  Specialized certification and advanced degrees (B.S., B.A., M.S., M.A., PH.D., Ed.D., Dsc. ) can be obtained with further education.  San Juan College also offers a Personal Training class that, upon completion, students can take a national certification.
