Are you interested in being an integral part of a healing team? As a Physical Therapist Assistant, working under the supervision of a physical therapist (PT), you’ll help patients recover from injury, illness or surgery. You’ll learn a variety of techniques ranging from therapeutic exercise and massage to ultrasound and electrotherapy modalities. Not only is this a truly rewarding career, but PTAs are among the fastest growing professions in the nation. San Juan College has an on-campus PTA Program and an online PTA Program. Both programs lead to an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the national license exam. PTAs must be licensed in order to practice in most states. Each program accepts 20 students every year.
The application deadline for both programs is October 1st of each year. Acceptance into either program is based on the admissions criteria outlined in the program application. Both PTA programs start in January of each year. Students must complete all prerequisites prior to starting the PTA program.
