The Senior College
Encore is a collaboration between many organizations, groups and institutions
for the personal growth and lifelong enrichment of
mature adults.
Encore is an umbrella
organization that coordinates and expands learning,
social, wellness and service activities for seniors in San Juan County.
Encore is available to individuals ages 50 and older.
Encore offers
credit classes which can be audited or
taken for a grade.
ENCORE
CLASSES: LEARNING IS FUN!
ENCORE is a new academic credit program at San Juan
College designed for students 50 years and over BUT
classes are open to everyone! ENCORE creates opportunities
for students to maintain lifelong vitality through learning
and these informative and fun classes can be enjoyed
by students of all ages. Class tuition for students
over the age of 65 is $5; tuition for students under
the age of 65 is $25. The classes are offered for one
college credit and all instructors are degreed or credentialed.
Students
do not have to join ENCORE to take the classes but the
$25 annual membership fee enables members to register
early for ENCORE classes and attend San Juan College
performances at no charge (excluding the Silhouette
Series) Membership in the ENCORE program also provides
attendance at the monthly Brown Bag presentations, the
Cracker Barrel Conversations and special events. For
