San Juan College broke ground Friday, February 23, on a new, permanent Student Health Center.

San Juan College (SJC) President Dr. Toni Hopper Pendergrass along with SJC Board of Trustees members, President’s Cabinet members and representatives from Jayne’s Corporation gather with Blaze and other dignitaries to break ground on the new Student Health Center, February 23, 2024.

Situated adjacent to the existing Health and Human Performance Center, construction is expected to last approximately 12 months.

The Student Health Center construction is funded, in part, by $1.1 million in Federal appropriation secured by Congresswoman Theresa Leger Fernandez. SJC students also voted to increase general fees to help pay for the operation of the new center.

Currently, students have access to medical and mental health care services housed within the Cultural Center building. Visit the Health Center for more information on the services provided.
