Fly fishing is a distinct and ancient angling technique that can provide hours of enjoyment. Gain both the practical knowledge and hands-on skills— from wading safety and reading water to aquatic entomology so you can differentiate between various types of flies. Before buying fly fishing equipment, learn what you really need and how to buy it. The class includes three field trips: two days with three hours of casting and one full day on the San Juan River to use everything you have learned. You can rent equipment for class use, and students will need valid fishing licenses before the last field trip; an overview of supplies will be discussed at the first class. Appropriate for ages 14 and up. 26 hrs*; additional last days will be added if more than 6 students

TJ JIMERSON has taught hundreds of San Juan County residents to fly fish during his 30+ years at San Juan College.
