Safety through Community Learning Center

At the Community Learning Center (CLC) at San Juan College, safety courses are offered to cater to the community's diverse needs. These courses span a range of topics, ensuring that individuals from all walks of life can acquire crucial safety skills and knowledge.


The CLC is dedicated to equipping community members with the tools necessary to navigate potential hazards. Expert instructors ensure that participants receive theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Joining these courses at San Juan College is a step towards building a safer and more informed community.

Safety Classes

This course covers the basic fundamentals for you to develop your capabilities to become a safe and responsible motorcyclist. It provides the opportunity for you to learn the physical and mental skills important for operating a motorcycle. You must be able to ride a bicycle in order to take this course. Students must wear helmets, full-finger gloves, long pants and sleeves, over-the-ankle footwear, and eye protection. If you do not have one, NMMSP will provide a helmet, and riders will use NMMSP motorcycles. Approximately 18 hrs: 3 for Basic eCourse (completed before class and included in registration), five for classroom, and ten for riding.

$200 for ages 18 and older
$100 for ages 13-17

Instructor: THE NEW MEXICO MOTORCYCLE SAFETY PROGRAM (NMMSP)

All classes meet Friday 6-10 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8 am-1 pm. Location is available through registration; dates and pricing are subject to change.
