Why Enter the Toyota Technical Education Network Program at San Juan College?
Partnership with Toyota
SJC is proud to be one of 37 schools across the U.S. that offers the T-TEN program. By completing our two-year program, you'll receive advanced technician training that would take 5-10 years to achieve if you were just working at a dealer.

Degree and Certificate Program Options
At SJC, you can earn the Toyota Technical Education Network Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree or Toyota Technical Education Network Certificate. Choose the program that best fits your needs.
The T-TEN AAS is a two-year degree program that combines automotive technician courses with general education courses. After you complete the program, you will have the skills to be a Toyota or Lexus-certified technician. With your degree, you can transfer to a four-year school to earn a bachelor's degree in the automotive field. You'll also be more qualified for jobs such as a dealer service writer.
The T-TEN Certificate is a two-year program that focuses on gaining the skills to become a Toyota-certified technician. You'll get the training you need to begin a career as an automotive technician at a Toyota dealership and similar facilities.
Paid Real-World Experience
As part of your training with Toyota vehicles, you will work at the shop of a sponsoring Toyota or Lexus dealer. During that time, you will be paid hourly and receive pay increases based on your performance.
During the program, you'll alternate spending eight weeks on campus in classes and labs and eight weeks at a Toyota or Lexus dealer shop. This format allows you to learn in the classroom and then practice your skills firsthand on Toyota and Lexus vehicles. You'll get real-world experience with repair procedures and learn about dealer service operations.
