Both scholarships are four-term renewable scholarships available to incoming freshmen who apply and are admitted to San Juan College.

The scholarships cover tuition, fees, campus housing and a meal plan. They can be combined with the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship and other state aid.

The first recipient of the Trustees Scholarship is Giessi Caraveo. He began his educational journey at San Juan College this fall.

In addition to the Trustees’ Scholarship, Brittany Daniel and Mary Longwill both received $2,500 per semester as part of the first-ever President’s Scholarship. Luke Amora and Hardaya James both received $1,000 per semester. The scholarship recipients recently graduated from high school and began classes at San Juan College this fall.

“Thanks to the abounding and consistent support of this amazing community, the San Juan College Foundation is proud to offer these new scholarships in order to assist students living in our new student housing,” said Gayle Dean, executive director of the San Juan College Foundation.

The San Juan College Foundation currently has 167 endowed scholarship funds that have provided more than 250 scholarships in par of summer and fall semesters of 2021 and the 2022 spring semester. They also have 25 annual scholarship accounts.
