San Juan College participated in the NC3 National Letter of Intent Signing on April 18, 2024.
This national event, sponsored by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. It honors students entering a technical field and celebrates the dignity of work.
SJC participated with 75+ institutions across the country. Over 120 students from 6 area schools and 4 Colorado schools registered for the event to sign for the 2024-25 school year and participated in a ceremony similar to an athletic signing.
As part of the celebration, the San Juan College Foundation gave ten $1000 scholarships to students in attendance through a random drawing.
In addition, The Skilled Trades – 3M Transformational Scholarship, a national scholarship offered through 3M and the National Coalition of Certification Centers, was awarded to 3 area students.
Jayden Griego, Farmington High School; Joshua Florez, Bloomfield High School; and Yessenia Lopez, Aztec High School, earned $1000 3M scholarships and are invited to participate in a national scholarship reception with fellow scholarship recipients later this spring.
