Supported by the San Juan College Foundation, the Honors Reception has become a cherished tradition that celebrates students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their education.

The 63 Honors Program graduates from the Class of 2026

This year's event recognized 63 Honors Program graduates from the Class of 2026 for their academic excellence and dedication to learning.

Established through the vision of Dr. David and Sally Bramhall, the Honors Reception continues to inspire students while highlighting the impact of scholarship support, mentorship and academic opportunity.

Celebrating Student Achievement and Leadership

The evening honored students whose accomplishments extend beyond the classroom through leadership, service and community engagement. Graduates were recognized alongside family members, faculty mentors and supporters who have contributed to their educational journeys.

Merrion Foundation Awards for Academic Excellence and Service

This year's keynote speaker, T. Greg Merrion, delivered an inspiring message focused on leadership, encouraging students to be fully present, build strong teams, provide clear direction and always choose what is right. His remarks resonated with graduates preparing to take their next steps in education and their careers.

Jayden Narsico received the Merrion Scholar of the Year Award, while Rachel Solar was named Merrion Honors Service Learning Student of the Year. Both students were selected for their outstanding academic accomplishments, leadership and dedication to excellence.

Community Partners Recognize Outstanding Students

Several community organizations and industry partners honored students for their academic excellence, professional achievement and commitment to their fields of study. 

Award recipients included:

  • Carrie Cunningham, recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Desert Gold Chapter Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement in Service Education.
  • Emma Rubinstein, recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Desert Gold Chapter Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement in Honors History.
  • Morgan Simes, recognized by the San Juan County Rotary Club as Nursing Student of the Year and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
    Courtlinn Davis, named Desert Hills Dental Care Dental Hygiene Honors Graduate of the Year and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
    Caden Begay, recognized by the Farmington Police Department as Criminal Justice Honors Graduate of the Year and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
  • Stephen Duran, named Cottonwood Clinical Services Human Services Substance Abuse Honors Graduate of the Year and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
  • Tiara Blackie, recognized by Desert View Family Counseling as Human Services Graduate of the Year and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
    These awards highlight the investment local organizations make in developing the next generation of healthcare professionals, educators, public servants and community leaders.
