The second annual Summer Time Family Fest brought families, donors, volunteers and community partners together at San Juan College (SJC) for a day of food, fun and giving back.
A Day of Family Fun
Hosted by the SJC Foundation with generous support from Dugan Production and the Dugan Family Foundation, the event welcomed more than 700 attendees.
The Summer Time Family Fest offered a variety of activities that encouraged families to connect, play and enjoy time together on campus.
The Dugan Production BBQ crew generously served approximately 500 free pulled pork meals with all the fixings. Guests also enjoyed a cornhole tournament, face painting, snow cones, popcorn and a stick horse course.
Additional attractions included the F.A.S.T. bike course, a visit from Blaze and sprinkler hill with foam, giving children plenty of ways to stay active and cool off. Attendees also had opportunities to learn about Food for Thought and the Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen and the resources they provide.
With food, games, family activities and community connections, the event created a welcoming environment for attendees while supporting a cause that affects students and families throughout the community.
Community Generosity Raises $160,000 for Food Security
Beyond the festivities, the Summer Time Family Fest delivered a significant impact through community giving.
Thanks to the generosity of SJC Foundation donors, event attendees, sponsors and volunteers, the festival raised $80,000. Dugan Production President Sean Dugan then pledged to match that amount, doubling the fundraising total to an impressive $160,000.
The funds will support efforts to fight food insecurity at SJC.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to Dugan Production, the Dugan Family Foundation, Sean Dugan, donors, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who attended and supported the event.
