Next Steps for Dual Credit and Early Admits

Now that you're part of the SJC Family, there are a few more steps to take to prepare for the first day of class. Below you'll find detailed information that will guide you through the enrollment process. We're here for you if you have any questions.


Your MySJC account is your passport to campus.  You will need to be able to login to MySJC before attending new student orientation and accessing your SJC email account, accepting your financial aid, registering for classes and more, so it's important to do this as soon as possible.  


Login to MySJC

If you used your middle name or middle initial on your SJC application: 

UsernameFirst Initial | Middle Initial | Last Name | Last two digits of your Social Security # | @my.sanjuancollege.edu

Password: The default password is “sjcp” then the last four digits of your SJC Student ID Number, unless you changed your password. Your password expires every 90 days.

Example: John A. Smith with a SJC ID of 000123, and last 2 digits of SSN of 12 looks like:

Username: jasmith12@my.sanjuancollege.edu

Password: sjcp0123

How to Get to MySJC

To get to MySJC, click on "Current Students" at the top of the San Juan College Website and then click on the "MySJC" button. Or use your browser to navigate to: https://mysjc.sanjuancollege.edu/


Please use your entire email address when logging in.

Once you have your MySJC account information, you can access your SJC student email account. Your SJC student email is SJC’s official communication between students and SJC staff. Please check your email regularly.

Accessing your email

You can access your SJC Student e-mail through MySJC or by navigating to outlook.com/my.sanjuancollege.edu

Students are expected to log in to Canvas on the first day of class. View Canvas Help for more information about logging in to Canvas for the first time. 

This online assessment is not required, however this survey measures your level of readiness for college in Reading and English and identifies how we can best support your success. 

Dual Credit Students

Schedule an appointment with your high school guidance counselor.

    • Discuss your Next Step Plan and your intended Career Pathway. If you are unsure of your intended Career Pathway, please take our free online career assessment, called Career Coach

Dual Credit offers you the opportunity to take a class that will fulfill both a high school core or elective credit and also achieve college credit at the same time. Your high school guidance counselor will assist you with selecting a class that aligns with your high school graduation requirements and also one of San Juan College’s academic course plans. The guidance counselor will email your requested classes to records@sanjuancollege.edu on your behalf.

Early Admit Students:

Schedule an appointment with your high school guidance counselor.

    • Discuss your intended Career Pathway. If you are unsure of your intended Career Pathway, please take our free online career assessment, called Career Coach.

Early Admission offers Colorado concurrent enrollment students the opportunity to take a class that will fulfill both a high school core or elective credit and also achieve college credit at the same time. Early Admission is also an option for high school students in New Mexico who seek to take a class that is not an approved dual credit class under the New Mexico statewide dual credit program, such as a remedial or developmental class. Your high school guidance counselor will assist you with selecting a class that aligns with your high school graduation requirements and also one of San Juan College’s academic course plans. The guidance counselor will email your requested classes to records@sanjuancollege.edu on your behalf.

Homeschool Students:

Schedule an appointment with the Dual Credit Coordinator or an Academic Advisor.

    • Discuss your intended Career Pathway. If you are unsure of your intended Career Pathway, please take our free online career assessment, called Career Coach.

We will assist you with selecting a class that aligns with your high school graduation requirements and also one of San Juan College’s academic course plans. Your college advisor will register you for classes. If you parent prefers to send in your class registration, you must use your San Juan College email account to email the request to records@sanjuancollege.edu.

The Dual Credit Orientation on Canvas is highly encouraged prior to your class starting. 

Attend a self-paced Dual Credit Orientation on Canvas:

  1. Go to https://canvas.sanjuancollege.edu/enroll/7APWTD 
  2. Use your San Juan College username and password to login
  3. Click on “Go to the Course”

Or attend a virtual or in-person Dual Credit Orientation. Upcoming Dual Credit Orientation dates are listed below.

Dual Credit and Early Admit Students:

The school districts of Dual Credit and Early Admit students vary in their policies regarding who pays for books and course materials. Please see your high school counselor for clarification.

  • Find your course materials at https://bookstore.sanjuancollege.edu 
  • A photo ID and your San Juan College course schedule is required to obtain textbooks at San Juan College. Visit the San Juan College Bookstore on campus or call (505) 566-3260 to have your books mailed to you.

Homeschool Students:

Homeschool students pay for books, course materials, and course fees.

Find your course materials at https://bookstore.sanjuancollege.edu
