The San Juan College Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the institution, with authority established by New Mexico state law. Trustees help guide the college’s strategic direction, support student success and strengthen workforce development throughout the Four Corners region.

Experienced Leader and Public Servant

Rasor brings extensive professional and public service experience to her role as trustee. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and has built a career focused on economic development, human resources and community leadership.

Most recently, Rasor served as Director of Administration and Operations at Four Corners Economic Development. Before that role, she worked as Human Resources Director for the City of Bloomfield.

Rasor also has previous elected experience. She served as a Bloomfield City Councilor from 1986 to 1996, marking her second time serving in public office.

A Strong Connection to San Juan College

Rasor has a longstanding connection to San Juan College (SJC) and the community it serves. A proud resident of the region, she describes herself as “homegrown” and is honored to represent the Bloomfield and Navajo Dam communities as the District 4 trustee.

Her relationship with SJC includes four years of service as Assistant Director at the Center for Workforce Development, which was known during her tenure as the San Juan College Business and Industry Training Center.

Commitment to Student Success and Workforce Development

“San Juan College is all about student success,” Rasor says. “I am excited to be part of an institution that prepares students for the workforce, no matter their age, to do a job they love and can make a good living at. A skilled workforce is a benefit to the entire community.”

Rasor is especially enthusiastic about the many opportunities SJC offers students and community members to develop skills for success. She is also encouraged by new and emerging training programs under development that will continue to meet the needs of the region.

Outside of her Trustee Responsibilities

Rasor enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, their four children and their 13 grandchildren. The couple cares for their “farmette” along the San Juan River in Bloomfield, where they spend time with their goats, a raccoon and other animals.

Rasor values connection and communication and wants the campus community and the public to feel comfortable reaching out.

“I am always happy to be contacted, with either concerns or good news,” she says.

Board of Trustees Meetings
